So you wanna be a doctor.

Maybe you’re trying to figure out how to go about it. Maybe you’re not sure if you’ve got what it takes. Maybe you’ve already applied multiple times with no success. All are normal.

How many times have we done an exam or performance and immediately felt frustrated that it wasn’t a true reflection of what we’re capable of? Then we miss out on an opportunity because unfortunately that was our one shot to show it.

You only get to apply to med-school once a year, so each time you get knocked out of the race, you have to wait another year to be able to have another go. The worst feeling then is regretting everything you didn’t do that might’ve made things turn out differently.

Getting into medicine is extremely competitive, with 24,150 applications for 2024 entry into 9,500 places. Competition on some courses has seen almost 50 applications per place!
